They have an exceptional health and safety record and through a continuous review of competence and training the Company ensures that all persons working under its control are aware of their roles and responsibilities for Health & Safety, Environment and Quality.
They are currently seeking a SHEQ Manager, based in Birmingham with regular travel throughout the UK, to be responsible for the overall management, control and co-ordination of the Health & Safety, Quality and Environmental functions, as well as promoting and maintaining a positive SHEQ culture within the business.
Duties will include: line management of professionals within each of the SHEQ functions (including stores/buildings/facilities management); acting as main company liaison with relevant external bodies, clients and partners on SHEQ matters; establishment and promotion of relevant SHEQ policies and procedures; providing information and advice to staff at all levels, and maintenance of the Company’s various SHEQ related external standards and recognitions.
Ideally you should have a minimum HNC qualification in a relevant engineering discipline; NEBOSH National Diploma; Chartered Membership of IOSH, IEMA, IQA or other body relevant to SHEQ. You should be able to demonstrate a broad knowledge and appreciation of standards and legislation across all the SHEQ disciplines, preferably gained within a construction or process related industry.
Previous people management experience, internal/external audit management experience, excellent interpersonal and written communication skills, high levels of computer literacy and a demonstrable commercial awareness will also all be required. A proven record in implementing safety behavioural programmes would be highly advantageous.
