Product Manager-Computing

Established for many years, the Company is a market leader in the design, manufacture and supply of rugged portable and industrial computing, custom battery packs, secure communication systems and antennas. Their focus is on providing highly reliable technology for use in harsh environments, where failure is not an option.

They design and manufacture industrial embedded computers, specialising in rack-mount systems, fanless PCs, and touchscreen panel PCs along with a broad range of fully and semi-ruggedised laptops, tablets and printers.

Their systems are designed and built to provide reliable operation in demanding environments where shock, vibration, dust, moisture and extremes of temperature would cause the rapid failure of conventional computer technology.

Used in a range of sectors including defence, surveillance, industrial and broadcast, the products support critical applications with the processing power and reliability demanded of them.

Reporting to the Business Development Manager the prime responsibility of the Product Manager will be to drive and manage the strategic product plan, working closely with engineering and core Blue-Chip technology partners to create increased demand for products.

This is a customer facing role with close liaison supporting the internal and external sales teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Day to day management and primary point of contact for the core technology partners
  • Keeping price lists up to date and work with purchasing and sales with supported project prices. A focus on margin improvement by establishing strategies for product pricing and positioning
  • Update and maintain website content with Marketing
  • Support of technical content writing for Marketing i.e. insights, product launches, campaigns etc
  • Support sales to provide the most suitable product solution to their customer application needs
  • Manage standard parts catalogue and stock holding to ensure the company is selling and holding the right product
  • Conducting competitor research to learn more about customer needs
  • Manage the development of the e-commerce website and its ongoing maintenance i.e. google shopping integration, pricing, exchanges rates, product changes, stock profile etc
  • Support the sales team with product training and customer meeting support
  • Develop and bring to market new products and develop a roadmap through market research and customer buying behaviour
  • Work with wider Product Managers for an end-to-end approach on a wider product range targeting specific segments
  • Work jointly with Sales on target market segment business development activities
  • Management and development of sales in their own specific accounts when required
