With its 190 million people, Brazil is the 15th largest world economy. About half of South American territory and economic production is Brazilian, making it the South America dominant country - a politically stable country, with ancient friendly relations with all western countries. Brazil became an independent state in 1822 (after three centuries under the rule of Portugal) and is larger than Japan, Spain, Italy, Portugal, Indonesia and South Africa.
Sao Paulo is a sophisticated business centre. Most of the industrial, commercial and entrepreneurial heart of Brazil is located in Sao Paulo. But Rio de Janeiro, Brasilia and Belo Horizonte are also important business centres. The motto of Brazil is Order and Progress. Brazil consists of twenty six states and one federal district. The Government of a state is headed by a Governor who is elected by popular vote. Each state has municipalities with a legislative council and a mayor in place.
InterSearch has offices in Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. As well as being the Chairperson of InterSearch Worldwide, Patricia Epperlein is the Managing Director of Brazil:
