Commercial Enginner
Location: Abu Dhabi, UAE
Salary: AED280,000 plus housing allowance, car allowance, travel, insurance etc
Part of a large international group the company is involved in packaged membrane filtration projects for the potable water sector. Projects are typically valued from USD500,000 to USD10 million and can be new build, refurbishments or upgrades together with associated services.
The company has been established for some years in the region but is now looking to open a dedicated projects team for desalination projects within their Abu Dhabi office. This will involve moving staff from other global locations and the recruitment of local individuals.
In order to develop the business they are seeking a Commercial Engineer to be part of the Proposals Team and to be responsible for the preparation of technical and commercial bids and proposals for clients throughout the region.
Main Purpose of the Position
To perform commercial activities in cooperation with other functions of the local organisation and Marketing and Business Development (M&BD) staff. To undertake commercial projects to be executed by the local Business Unit (BU). To locally support the commercial tasks of the other Business Units whilst implementing the communications with the Clients/End Users.
Responsibilities
1. Local follow up of the bids managed by the mother BU into the territory.
2. To prepare proposals for local new projects, refurbishing of installations existing into the territory and quotation of services to be rendered by the Technical Service Team.
3. To effectively manage commercial activities including liaison with purchasing and technical departments and implementing communications between mother BU’s and Clients.
4. To ensure that offered projects adhere to the companies Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality standards.
5. To report on a monthly basis current progress and commercial status on assigned projects.
Background/Experience of the Candidate:
• Fluent written and spoken English and Arabic
• Having a minimum of 3 years experience in similar activities (engineering company involved in water/waste water treatment, petrochemical sector, package units suppliers, etc.)
